Create a Domain

A domain resource is a spatial container that represents a specific geographical area. It includes metadata such as the name, description, creation date, and the spatial extent defined by geographic coordinates. Domains are used to organize and manage spatial data and operations within a defined area. The data can be vectorized, such as holding features or trees in an inventory, or rasterized, such as a 3D canopy fuel grid or a Digital Elevation Model (DEM).

Tutorial

1. Sign In to Your Account

   • Navigate to https://app.fastfuels.silvxlabs.com/sign-in and sign in with your credentials.

2. Access the Map Page

   • Once logged in, click on the Map icon from the left sidebar.
   • Welcome to the Map page! Here you can view and create domains with our map interface.
   

3. Generate a New Domain

   • Click on the Generate new domain button on the top of the Domains sidebar.
   • Draw a polygon representing the spacial extent of the domain and fill in the required Domain name input.
   • Click on the Submit button to generate the domain.
   • The form will close and a toast alert will appear on the bottom right of the screen confirming the domain creation.
   

   Tip

   Need to reset the polygon? Click on the Reset map button on the bottom of the form.

4. Using your Domain

   • Once created, you can view your domain on the map and zoom to it by clicking on the domain name.
   • You can change the domain’s color by clicking on the color picker to the right of the domain name.
   • You can access the domain’s actions by clicking on the ellipsis icon to the right of the color picker.
   • The domain actions include Export and Delete.
